The Saturday Shift Cars & Coffee was a new event for my husband and I. We had only been to a few car meet ups in Torrance, so didn’t really know what to expect. The show was from 7:30am till 10:00am so you had to be there early or you would miss out since it only last an hour and a half.
Pulling up, we noticed roughly fifteen cars parked in a shopping plaza parking lot off of PCH with a pop up tent indicating we were in the right location. As we got out of our car, people walked up and complemented us on our ride. Everyone seemed very friendly and laid back. At a lot of the car shows people have a tendency to be standoffish. This was not the case here. There was a mixture of new corvettes, Ferrari’s, a McLaren and a couple of muscle cars. I think the main event sponsor was a local Ferrari dealership, so you had more Ferrari’s than any other car.
We walked around and chatted with a few people, but it only took maybe fifteen minutes to check out all of the cars. Some of the notables was a Shelby Daytona coupe, McLaren 570, Ferrari 599, Ferrari Portofino, Ferrari California, 1996 Acura NSX targa and 1969 Camaro Z28.
The show was small but fairly new. The promoter’s were still growing its followers. There was free water, coffee and donuts for the spectators and this looked like a show that would be around for a while.
I would give this show three stars out of five, but recommend people to check it out if they were looking for something different. The facts that it was close the scenic PCH highway made the drive worthwhile.
